The SmartMLS Tax property report contains valuable Flood Zone information sourced directly from the FIRM panel on the FEMA.gov website. If a parcel has any sort of flood risk (as determined by FEMA), there will be an additional FEMA Flood Zones section at the bottom of the property report.
Note: Not all parcels are close enough to water to propose a flood risk. Don't be alarmed if you do not see the FEMA Flood Zones section at the bottom of a property report. If the flood zone section is not on the report, it simply means that there is no relevant information to display in the section, so it is omitted completely.
Here is an example of what the flood zone section looks like:
-
Zone Code, FloodRisk and Description provide the details of the parcel's flood zone assessment.
-
FIRM Panel ID and Effective Date provide a link directly to the parcel on FEMA.gov as well as the effective date of the information on the FEMA website.
-
Letter of Map Changes (LOMC) notification discloses if there is a Letter of Map Changes for the parcel. You can find the changes by clicking on the FIRM Panel ID and looking in the Changes to this FIRM section:
- FloodSmart.gov links to the official page of the National Flood Insurance Program on the FEMA.gov site
